TREPÇA AND ITS INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE HAVE SPARKED THE INTEREST OF THE FRENCH

As part of Francophonie Week in Kosovo, officials and directors from the Lewarde Mining Museum in France and representatives from the French Embassy in Kosovo, Mr. Donato Giuliani and Valon Ibraj, made an interesting visit to Kosovo to explore opportunities for cooperation in industrial and cultural tourism. The French representatives visited the National Museum of Crystals, Stan Tërg, the Trepça Industrial Park, and saw the exhibition “Visioning the Trepça Industrial Park” at the “Shtatë” gallery.

The meeting served to exchange experiences and ideas for transforming unused industrial spaces into cultural spaces, and to explore opportunities for cooperation in cultural tourism. Hosts of this visit were: Valdete Idrizi, Director of DKRS, and Lulzim Hoti executive director of 7Arte.

This meeting highlighted that Mitrovica has potential in this field of tourism, and that cooperation with France can further aid in the development of industrial and cultural tourism in our country.
