7ARTE JOINS TRANS EUROPE HALLES
Trans Europe Halles (TEH) is a European network of cultural centers, initiated by citizens and artists who advocate and promote culture. With around 90 member organizations and partners across Europe, the network functions as a dynamic forum of ideas, experiences and exchanges, supporting the members and their community.
The member organizations of Trans Europe Halles have special experiences and knowledge of how to transform abandoned industrial spaces into vibrant cultural centers, involving and engaging artists and the community. During this year, 7Arte has started to implement the project “Visioning the industrial spaces of Mitrovica” in addition to which it will further develop the conceptual project entitled “TrepçArt City”, which suggests and aims at the revitalization of the industrial area of Fafos/Trepça, in a space that would support and promote the creative industry, economic development through innovative and sustainable businesses, as well as conserve the most vital part of the space by giving it new functions in accordance with the demands of the international market.
Since Trans Europe Halles contributes to building a sustainable future for the independent cultural sector, the inclusion of the 7Arte organization in this network is considered a step forward towards new cultural developments in the Mitrovica region, as well as the increase of intercultural cooperation at the European level.
7Arte was founded in 2006, and aims to support Kosovar artists, as well as to promote and develop a common European culture. In recent years, 7Arte has proven to be one of the most active cultural centers in the independent cultural scene in Kosovo.
“Visioning the industrial spaces of Mitrovica” is supported by the Swiss Office for Cooperation in Kosovo, as well as by the EJA program, managed by KCSF.
