Exhibition ``More about Mitrovica``

TrepçArt Fest is an annual event held in Mitrovica, Kosovo that celebrates the cultural and industrial prosperity of Trepça. TrepçArt Fest showcases the diverse cultural heritage of the area, featuring a range of activities including music performances, public talks, workshops, film screenings, and art exhibitions.

The festival aims to provide a platform for young people to experience and gain insights into the cultural and industrial richness of the area. It also strives to promote the collective memory of the place, bringing together people from different backgrounds to appreciate and enjoy the history of Trepça.

In the modelarium of the Faculty of Architecture in Prishtina, the exhibition “More about Mitrovica” was organized by the Faculty of Architecture (UP) and 7Arte, on January 23-31. The exhibition was a result of the continuous 4-month work of architecture students under the mentorship of professor Florina Jerliu, within the “Theory and Practice of Restoration” course. This exhibition on “Visioning the industrial spaces of Mitrovica” has revealed the works of students and researchers who have explored the potential of the cultural and architectural assets of the city of Mitrovica, as well as the stories of former workers of the Trepça Combine.

The exhibition presented a panorama and vision of the industrial heritage of Trepça and the historic buildings in the center of Mitrovica, bringing attention back to these important cultural and architectural assets. Students and researchers have presented ideas for the re-use of these assets, making this exhibition a source of inspiration for all citizens of Mitrovica and all those interested in cultural and architectural heritage.

This was a great opportunity to learn more about the industrial heritage of Trepca and the historical buildings of Mitrovica.
